Hello, my name is Rick Preen. As the owner and executive chef I would like to introduce you to Newbery Lodge.

Newbery Lodge is a beautiful homestead, oozing ambience, surrounded by magnificent trees and tranquil gardens, it is the perfect setting for any type of function - from an intimate dinner party to a large wedding ceremony and reception. With over 30 year's experience in the hospitality industry, both in New Zealand and overseas, I personally oversee all catering. An extensive selection of sample menus is available to be used as a starting point to design a menu to suit your requirements and desires.

The Lodge can cater for up to 130 people seated in our large upstairs dining room and up to 225 people standing, for a cocktail style function. We are fully licensed with two bars on site.

RG's Restaurant and Bar, situated downstairs at the lodge, is open from 3pm Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. With superb food, full bar facilities and relaxed atmosphere, my friendly team will help you forget the stress of the day. Bookings are essential.
